The music scene in Manchester has been thriving for as long as anyone can remember and there are some great venues to explore. If contemporary music is your bag, then make your way to the Manchester Academy to see one of the many indie bands that play there on a regular basis. 3. If you and your date are the outdoorsy types then why not take advantage of some of the beautiful greenery that Manchester has to offer. If the sun is shining, why not pack a picnic and whisk your date off to Heaton Park. This looks impressive and is the perfect opportunity for you and your date to spend some quality time together. You can even go horse riding is you and your date are the adventurous types- just make sure they like horses beforehand to avoid disaster! If you and your date really love good food then head to Abode for a culinary treat courtesy of top chef Michael Caines. Or for something a little more exotic, try Tampopo- an Asian canteen that includes food from across the continent on the menu. If you are a serious foodie, then try and make it to the annual Manchester Food and Drink Festival in October, bit of a long shot but well worth it if you can time it right!

5. For those of you who like to think outside the box when it comes to dating, then somewhere like the Manchester Climbing Centre is certain to get the adrenaline pumping. Just make sure your date doesn't have vertigo before booking a session! Or if you're feeling lucky why not head to the Bellevue dog track and place a few bets. Bets start at just 50p and it's definitely something out of the ordinary! Finally, if you think your date is up to it then give indoor skydiving at Aitkix a go!
